I e ff° r t s to batter down the drug racket
Wi It is one of the toughest assignments the government of the United
- States has undertaken.
DRUG ABUSE is one of the most urgent and until
1 recently, one of the most neglected.
Hardly any of the hard drugs originate in the United
States. They come from other places . . . Turkey is a main
original source and Franc* a loading transit country.
NOW, a formal understanding has been accepted with
14 other European countries to “Turn the heat on narcotic?
It is just one more step —but they all count. No form of
f CRIME is more deadlier to society than the drug racket Any
• step designed to curb it deserves loud cheers.
