New Livestock
Sale Barn Was
Opened The 27th
The Middle Georgia Livestock
Sales Company, located west of
Jackson on Georgia 16, officially
opened their new sale barn Wed
nesday, September 27th,
A large number of cattle buy
ers as well as several dignitaries
were on hand to tour the new
building and participate in the
livestock sale. The livestock
company is owned and operated
by Allen Lewis of Jackson, Bill
Wheeler of Cumming and Buck
Lewis of Canton who reported
Wednesday’s sale to be the larg
est ever had under their owner
ship. One thousand three hundred
and two head of livestock were
sold during sale hours Wednes
day.
The new, modern sale barn in
cludes a main office, buyer’s
offices, a large new cattle arena
and ring, livestock pens and
other features.

To Exhibit
At Museum
Miss Gail Elaine Parnelle, a
teacher in Henderson Junior
High School, has been notified
that an abstract painting of hers
has been selected for exhibit at
the Georgia Artists Show in No
vember. The painting “Red-Yel
low-Blue-Green 73” will be on
exhibit at the High Museum of
Art.
Miss Patnelle, a native of At
lanta, received a Bachelor of
Pine Arts Degree from the At
lanta Sthool of Art and a Mas
ters Degree from the Cranbrook
Academy of Art in Michigan. She
joined Henderson Junior High
faculty this year as art instruc
tor.
The public is invited to attend
the livestock sales each Wednes
day and to come by and tour the
new building.

Dr. Oliver J, Barron announces
the opening of his office for
dental practice in the Funderburg
Building, 407 Forsyth Street, in
Monticello.
A native Of Monticello, he at
tended the old Jasper County
Training School and graduated
from Ft. Valley State College
prior to two years of military
duty. Dr. Barron received the
Doctor of Dental Surgery degree
from Howard University, Wash
ington, D. C. He served one year
of a rotating dental school at
St. Elizabeth Hospital in Wash
ington.
Dr. Barron’s experience in
cludes serving as a dental officer
with the Department of Public
Health in Washington, D. C. and
Atlanta while engaged in private
practice in both cities.
Dr. Barron is married to the
former Stephanie Andrea Jackson
of Fredericksburg, Va. Dr. Bar
ron said that he considers it an
honor to return to his birthplace
to practice his profession.
