VTHE SOWER WJ
1 By Michael A Guido. Metter, Georgia
The Constitution of the
United States guarantees to
every American “the pursuit
of happiness.” But it does
not guarantee the possession
of happiness. Is there anyone
who does? The Lord.
Declared the sacred singer
in Psalm 112:1, “Blessed is the
man that feareth the Lord,
that delighteth greatly in His
commandments.”
The word “blessed” means
happy. And the word
“feareth” does not speak of
dread but of dependence.
Who is the happy one? The
one who depends upon the
Lord for His salvation and
delights in His Word for his
satisfaction.
Want to be happy? Quit
being gripey and start being
grateful. Quit hating people
and start loving them. Quit
doing wrong and start doing
right. Quit undermining the
mind with doubts and start
undergirding it with devo
tions. Quit living for self and
start living for others. Quit
making prayer the last resort
and start making it the first
resort.
Just about everybody
knows what to do to be
happy. But it takes more
than acquaintance, it takes
action. Our Lord Himself
said in John 13:17, “If ye
know these things, happy are
ye if ye do them.”
