Mrs. Mills
Died Friday
In Atlanta
Mrs. A. S. Mills, 97, of
Jackson and Atlanta died
Friday, June Ist, at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. S. J.
Meacham, at 57 Lakeview
Avenue, Atlanta, following a
period of ill health extending
over the past several months.
She had made her home in
Atlanta for about a year prior
to which she was a lifelong
resident of Jackson. ■
Born January 1,1876 in Butts I
County, she was the daughter!
of the late Mr. John Thomas!
Kimble and Mrs. Missouri!
Lewis Kimble, both of Butts
County. Mrs. Mills was a
member of County Line Baptist
Church in Butts County.
Funeral services were con
ducted Sunday afternoon at
three o’clock from the County
Line Baptist Church with Rev.
R. W. Jenkins, pastor of
Macedonia Baptist Church,
officiating. Interment was in
the church cemetery with H.
M. Patterson & Son, Spring
Hill, in charge of arrange
ments.
Mrs. Mills is survived by five
daughters, Mrs. Bailey Jones j
of Jackson, Mrs. Euell White, j
Mrs. Fred Echols, Mrs. Sara
Meacham and Mrs. Leonard
Suddeth, all of Atlanta; one
son, T. L. Mills of Atlanta; 15
grandchildren, 27 great-grand
children, 4 great-great-grand
children.
Pallbearers were Russ
Crumbley, Bennie Dover, Bill
Jones, Harold Williamson, Ray
Suddeth and Ronald Suddeth,
all grandsons and great-grand
sons.

Scott Smith was the hurler
for Avondale, giving up 4 runs
on 6 hits, walked 2and S.O. 10.

Smith was winning pitcher,
giving up 2 runs on 3 hits,
walked 2 and struck out 9.

FLOVILLA BAPTISTS TO
HAVE GOSPEL SINGING
A Gospel Singing will be held
Saturday evening, June 9th, at
the Flovilla Baptist Church
beginning at 7:30 o’clock.
Among those singing will be
the Shining Lights, a group of
teen-age girls from Jackson
ville, Florida and the Robert
Smith Singers who are well
known in this area.
The public is cordially
invited to attend.

40th Annual Georgia Municipal
Association (GMA) Convention
in Savannah June 24-27 will be
