Visiting Mr. and Mrs. S. J.
Ireland recently were Mr. and
Mrs. John Steverson and girls
of Locust Grove and Mr.
Dwayne Smith of Jackson.
Mr. and Mrs. S. A.
Washington visited her sister,
Mrs. Tommy Granger and Mr.
Granger in Covington Thurs
day evening. Mr. and Mrs.
Washington also visited her
brother, Mr. A. G. Potts, Mrs.
Potts and family of the Stark
Community recently.
Mrs. Hiram Smith spent the
day Saturday with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Clark, of
Conyers.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
Washington and Alan were
supper guest of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hearn and
family of Hampton Thursday
evening. Little sister, Linda,
returned home with them for a
short visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Spruell
have as their guests this week
their daughter, Mrs. Lamar
Long, of the Cedar Rock
Community while her husband
is away on business.
Mr. and Mrs. Rebon Maddox
visited their father, Mr. L. R.
Washington in the V. A. Home
in Milledgeville Saturday.
They also visited their mother,
Mrs. Ermine Washington at
Hilltop Nursing Home near
Forsyth. They report that
both Mr. and Mrs. Washington
are better.
Spend the day guests of Mrs.
Nellie Cochran Sunday were
her daughter, Mrs. Edna
Wilkerson and granddaughter,
Mrs. Mike McKinney, and Mr.
McKinney, all of Atlanta.
Mrs. S. A. Washington, Mrs.
Stanley McCart and Mike, Miss
Stanley Washington and Alan
and Linda Hearn visited Miss
Janet Washington, a student
nurse at Georgia Baptist
Hospital in Atlanta Saturday.
Together they all went on a
shopping spree and had a
pleasant day in the big city.
Spending the day with Mrs.
J. H. Pope Friday were her
daughter, Mrs. John Fletcher,
and Mr. Fletcher of Tucker.
Another daughter, Mrs. Robert
Wilson, and grandson, Bobby,
of Decatur, visited Sunday
afternoon.

Talked On
"Hypnosis"
Alan Perrins, senior English
teacher at Jackson High
School, was guest lecturer at
Albany Junior College, Albany,
on Monday, July 23. The
lecture topic was “Hypnosis,
Pro’s and Con’s,” and was
followed by a demonstration
with subjects from the audi
ence.
Mr. Perrins was accompan
ied by his wife, Miss Donna
Kelso, Miss Toye Williamson,
and Rod Crank, all of Jackson.
Mr. Perrins has practiced
hypnosis for 23 years and is a
member of the Association to
Advanced Ethical Hypnosis, a
nationally recognized organi
zation.

Mrs. Myrtice Murphy both of
Deatur, were weekend guests
of Mrs. F. A. Holston. Joining
them for dinner on Sunday

Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Hiram
Smith Sunday afternoon were
her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hearn and
Kristi of Hampton visited Mr.
and Mrs. Stanley Washington
and Alan Saturday evening and
picked up their daughter,
Linda, who had been visiting
the Washingtons for a couple
days and returned her home.
Rev. Charles Davis of
Jackson brought two inspira
tional sermons to the congre
gation of Worthville Baptist
Church Sunday and Sunday
evening in the absence of the
pastor, Rev. Billy Floyd.
Mr. and Mrs. Stacer Wash
ington visited his mother, Mrs.
Ermine Washington at Hilltop
Nursing Home Sunday after
noon. They also visited her
mother, Mrs. Mary Bohannon,
of Jackson, the same day.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie
Johnston Sunday were his
mother, Mrs. Lois Johnston
and brother, Randy Johnston,
and Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Johnston and Eric, all of
Forsyth.
Miss June Maddox had a
friend from Tampa, Fla. as a
weekend guest.
Mr. and Mrs. Julian Wash
ington of Morrow visited their
father, Mr. L. L. Washington,
and Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Avery
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Avery
accompanied their son and his
family, Mr. and Mrs. Mike
Avery, Will and Wendy of
Macon to Atlanta Saturday
afternoon where they attended
a small reception at the home
of and in honor of their
daughter, Mrs. Tom Bell, and
Mr. Bell. Mr. and Mrs. Bell
were married July 2nd and
together with her son, Don
McDonald, are now settled
in their new apartment in
Atlanta.

who remembered me with
cards, flowers, gifts, calls,
visits and other thoughtful
deeds during my recent
hospitalization and since I have
returned home. Your many
acts of love and concern meant
much to me and I pray that

Mrs. Thelma Prosser and
Mrs. Carol Ridgeway have
recently completed a Summer
Workshop for Teachers and
Coordinators of Adult and
Vocational Education.
The C. V. A. E. Workshop
was sponsored by the State
Department of Education
under the direction of Dr. Ott
and Dr. Sethany of Georgia
State University. Classes were
held at the Pryor Street
Elementary School in Atlanta.
