Fla. for nine weeks of basic
training.
During recruit training Sea
man Pace will be indoctrinated
in the history and traditions of
the Navy, military drills,

aircraft, wearing of the navy
uniform, and personal hygene.
Upon completion of recruit
training Seaman Pace will
attend a Navy school in the
engineering field and then
report to The Navy Nuclear
Power School for training in
nuclear propulsion.
Pace enlisted in the Navy to
serve his country and to
further his education. He
suggests to his friends who are
looking for a rewarding,
challenging and secure future
with responsibilities, travel,
and security, to contact Navy
Recruiter Chief Roy Landrum
at 228-4382 in Griffin, for an
appointment to see if they can
grow with the bold ones in the
modern Navy.
Friends and relatives of
Andy Crumbley have been
slightly encouraged in the
slight progress he has shown in
recovering from critical in
juries sustained in an auto
accident in Atlanta some six
weeks ago. Though no vast
change has been made in his
condition it is felt some
progress is noted but a No
Visitors rule has been estab

in Andy’s best interest at the
present time. Cards and letters
of encouragement may be sent
to Andy in Care of South Fulton
Hospital.

Man has a hunger for knowledge. It first shows
itself in childhood and prompts incessant ques
tions and exasperating experiments.
But it continues all through life. Recently, on
discovering something you didn’t know, you mur
mured to yourself, “Gotta look that up . . .”
Upon this basic hunger for knowledge, the
Church’s program of religious education is
planned. That’s why we urge parents to foster a
Christian atmosphere in the home. It is also why
the Church provides religious instruction long
before secular education begins. And it accounts
for continuing emphasis on youtl} and young adult
activities in most congregations.
We adults haven’t outgrown the hunger for
knowledge. Most of us recognize that our scientific
and material progress points up the crucial need
for spiritual standards to believe in. God has vital
truth to impart to men. The place to look it up
is your church.
