NEWS from your I

Long periods of bed rest
are required to cure some
illnesses. This means that
someone has to be sure that
the patient is comfortable
during this period of conva
lescence. Here are a couple
of helpful hints for easing the
patient’s stay in bed.
First, be sure to keep the
bed as wrinkle-free as
possible, and help the patient
change positions as much as
possible to avoid contracting
bedsores. Secondly, keep
heavy objects off the feet and
lower legs. Do not place
folded blankets across the
feet of the patient.
