    Forest Park Nuptials
Join Miss Chasteen
And Ronald Buckalew
Jones Memorial First
United Methodist Church in
Forest Park, Georgia was
the scene of the wedding of
Miss Camille Jan Chasteen
and Ronald Albert Buckalew.
She is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. George W. Chas
teen, Jr. of Nashville,
Tennessee, formerly of For
est Park. He is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Buckalew of
Forest Park.
Reverend P. V. Hall
officiated at the seven
o’clock ceremony August
31st, following a program of
nuptial music presented by
Mr. Lee Leathers, organist,
and Mrs. Thomas E. Can
trell, vocalist. “Starting
Here, Starting Now” and
“Color My World” were
songs chosen by Miss
Chasteen to be presented.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was attired
in a gown, fashioned by her
mother, of white satin with
V-neckline, long sleeves
enhanced with scalloped
lace, and chapel length train.
She wore a full length veil of
illusion and carried a
cascade arrangement of pink
roses, stephanotis and carna
tions.
Mrs. C. Allan Mears, Sr.,
sister of the bride, of Forest
Park, was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Em
ory Trawick of College Park
and Mrs. James Carmichael
of Decatur. They wore
lavender floral empire mod
els with head pieces to match
and carried cascade ar
rangements of lavender
carnations, chrysanthe
mums and gypsophila.
The best man was Mr.
Fred Buckalew, father of the
groom, of Forest Park.
Groomsmen were Mr. Larry
Cole of Forest Park and Mr.
Charles Bryant of Decatur.
The bride’s mother wore a
pale yellow polyester crepe
dress with an overlay of
chiffon and matching acces
sories. She wore a corsage of

Friends of Andy Crumbley
were delighted to know he
was improved to the extent
he was able to view the
Jackson-Monticello game in
Monticello, Friday night. A
vast number of friends
stopped by to speak and visit
with him.

The groom’s mother wore
a pale blue dress enhanced
with white braid and black
patent accessories. She wore
a cymbidium orchid corsage.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was given by the
bride’s parents in the
fellowship hall of the church.
The tables were covered with
white satin cloths
and decorated with white
tapers, ribbons, and floral
arrangements in various
shades of lavender. The
bride’s table held a three
tiered cake iced in lavender,
and decorated with violets
and lilies of the valley. It was
topped with the traditional
bride and groom. At the
refreshment table, punch
was served from a fountain
with the punch, mints and
rice bags also in shades of
lavender. Those assisting in
serving were Miss Donna
Lepper of Friendship, Ten
nessee, Miss Karen Solomon
of Tullahoma, Tennessee,
Miss Lane Stone of Forest
Park and Mrs. Eddie
Jackson of Decatur.
Miss Freda Buckalew,
sister of the groom, attended
the bride’s book.
Immediately following the
reception the couple left for a
honeymoon in Hawaii. For
her going away outfit, the
bride wore a blue and white
dress with white accessories,
and a white carnation
corsage. They are residing in
College Park, Georgia.
Prior to the ceremony,
Migs Chasteen was honored
with several parties.
The rehearsal dinner was
given by the groom’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Buckalew, at the Holiday Inn
in Forest Park.
Miss Chasteen is the
granddaughter of Mrs. H. W.
Webb of Jackson, Georgia
and the late Mr. Webb.
Jackson friends of Miss
Anne Watkins of Atlanta will
be interested to know that
she recently underwent maj
or surgery at Emory Hospi
tal. She is recuperating at the
home of her cousin, Louise
Woods, 2325 Dellwood Drive,
N.W., Atlanta. Miss Watkins
is a former resident of
Jackson and has many
friends here.
Mr. and Mrs. George H.
Brooks, Jr. attended the
Atlanta-San Francisco game
Sunday afternoon at Atlanta
Stadium.

TO GARDEN CLUB
Mrs. Ruby Mangham was
the gracious hostess for the
Jenkinsburg Garden Club at
her lovely home in Jenkins
burg on September 10th.
Fourteen members were
present. The meeting was
presided over by Mrs. Joyce
Harris. An inspiring devo
tional was given by Mrs.
Lucille Fletcher. She used
Psalm 106 for her scriptures
and gave a reading on Why
Worrv.
Mrs. Anita Mixon, the new
secretary, gave the minutes
of the last meeting. A
discussion on flower ar
rangements for the fair was
led by Mrs. Flora Price.
The hostess invited the
guests into her dining room
which was beautifully deco
rated with summer flowers.
Delicious refreshments, con
sisting of chicken salad
sandwiches, pickles, toasted
nuts, chips, dips, coconut
cake and punch were served
by the hostess.

Madden, and Sammy Rowe
at the Presbyterian Church
there.

3) Bringing out-moded municipal charter up-to-date with anew
charter designed to prepare Jackson for future expansion.
4) The enactment by City Council of an up-to-date City Code to
eliminate the present overlapping, inconsistent and vague laws.
