Lunchroom Week
On Thursday, October 17th,
we had several parents and
other citizens in our commu
nity to enjoy a delicous meal
with us. It was National
Lunchroom Week and this •
was “Georgia” Day, with the
favorite fried chicken head
ing the menu. After lunch,
our guests were invited to
visit rooms in the school.
School pictures were made
on Oct. 30th and the students
never looked nicer and
smiled prettier.
We were indeed fortunate
to have volunteer help from
the Georgia Diagnostic Cen

grass and lilies on the bank of
our playground. We would
like to say “thank you” to Dr.

Parent Involvement
The Second Level pupils in
Miss E. Foster’s class are
participating in Parent In
volvement activities. One
day each week a parent visits
the classroom and does
volunteer work during class
activities. Parent involve
ment for this class has been
helpful for the child, the
parent and the teacher.
The teacher invites other
parents to visit the classroom
so they can see their child in
his school setting and
observe his performance in a
group. This experience will
help parents in understand
ing both their own child and
others, as well as providing a
means for becoming ac
quainted with the school
program as a whole.
Mrs. Wilkins’ second level
group enjoyed learning about
Halloween. They learned to
spell Halloween words and
use them in Language Arts in
different ways. The students
made Halloween hats and
took a spook walk to Mrs.

first level classes. They sang
songs and read poems about
