J. T. Walton of Woodbury,
Georgia. Miss Hearn is
the daughter of the late A.
Judson Hearn of Jackson.
Miss Hearn is the grand
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. E. W. Hearn of Franklin
and Jackson, Georgia, and
Mrs. A. E. Evett and the late
Mr. W. W. Jinks of Jackson.

ENJOY HALLOWEEN
PARTY AT PUCKETTS
Junior Girl Scout Troop
No. 138 enjoyed a Halloween
Party on Friday evening at
the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Puckett.
The 15 scouts and guests
enjoyed roasting hot dogs
and marshmallows over a
campfire. Potato chips, cup
cakes, punch and candied
apples rounded out the menu.
The meal was followed by a
long, loud and jolly hayride.
Upon returning from the
hayride, the girls and guests
bobbed for apples.
The thoroughly enjoyable
evening was climaxed with
prizes presented for the best

Mrs. John T. Walton, Sr. of
Woodbury and Mrs. C. E.
Williams and the late Mr.
Williams of Concord, Geor
gia.
Miss Hearn received her
B.S. Degree in Elementary
Education from Georgia
College in Milledgeville in
March. She also has a partial
fulfillment toward a Master’s
Degree in Education. She is
presently teaching fifth
grade in Jackson.

DISCUSS PLANS FOR
SEVERAL ACTIVITIES
The Girl Scout Hut in
Griffin was the scene of the
last meeting of Girl Scout
leaders from Butts County
with Mrs. Joann Powers
from the Council office in
Griffin.
The leaders discussed
plans for many activities
expected to take place during
the current school year.
Mrs. Gwen Juhlin spoke to
the group on some ideas for
cleanup and beautification
costumes. First prize went to
Betty Thompson and second
prize went to a guest, Andrea
Rodriguez.

dle Georgia College in
Cochran after which he was
employed by the Meriwether
County Law Enforcement
Department and the Butts
county Law Enforcement
Department. He is now
connected with the H.S. & W.
Contractors, Inc. of Jackson.
The wedding is planned for
December 14, 1974 at seven
o’clock in the evening at The
First United Methodist
Church of Jackson.
projects in the county. Mrs.
Juhlin is chairman of the
Butts County Association for
Beautification Through Con
servation. The Girl Scouts
will be participating in
various projects related to
beautification and conserva
tion throughout the year.
New officers of the Girl
Scouts were elected, as
follows: Mrs. Josephine
Puckett, town chairman and
cookie chairman; Mrs. Sonia
Fleming, public relations.
The following three county
troops were represented:
