The Cherokee Garden Club
held its monthly meeting at
the home of Mrs. Charles
Carter on January 9th.
Co-hostesses were Mrs.
Candler Webb and Mrs.
Doyle Jones, Jr.
An interesting program
was presented to the club by
Mrs. Gerald Ross, a member
of the Magnolia Garden Club.
She showed slides of the
arrangements that were
entered in the Butts County
Fair during 1973 and 1974.
The color slides were
beautiful and the club
’ members thoroughly enjoyed
viewing them.
The hostesses served deli
, cious refreshments of lemon
mousse, cookies, toasted
pecans, and coffee.
The business meeting was
held after the program with
Airs. Phyllis Davis, presi
dent, presiding. Mrs. Davis
named a nominating com
mittee to secure officers for
the new year. Many things
were discussed and plans for
the coming year made.

of Jenkinsburg will observe
their 57th wedding anniver
sary at their home on
Thursday, January 16th.
Their home has been
blessed with three wonderful
daughters; Lucy is married
.to Dr. E. V. Patrick of
Carrollton; Marion is the
wife of John W. Walker, Jr. of
Cairo; and Rebecca is
to Dr. James W.
Watkins, Jr. They live in
Decatur.
The Minters are also
blessed with seven grand
children and seven great
grandchildren.

Jenkins.
Attending Mr. Cook as his
best man was Charles Liotta
of Decatur. Paul Conlon and
Johnny Lunsford served as

Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a white
gown of Chantilly lace and
satin peau with matching
lace train. The empire
bodice featured a high lace
collar and the long sleeves
were of shepherdess design.
