As you drive into your
carport, do you see those
unsightly spots of oil? There
are many commercial clean
ers which will help to remove
all signs of oil. Tri-sodium
phosphate may be found at
paint stores. It’s a cleaner
which is easy to use and will
remove all signs of oil if used
properly. First wet the spots
or area with water. Sprinkle
the entire soiled area with
tri-sodium phosphate. Let
stand at least one hour or
more. Use a scrub brush or a
stiff broom to scrub the area.
Rinse with a garden hose. If
signs remain, repeat the
process and bleach with
household bleach.

that Terry Moody, a former
employee of Haisten Funeral
Home in Jackson, has opened
anew funeral home in

Summer Feeding Program
To Be Held On July 16th
Edluie Darnelius Walker,
Executive Director of the
Upper Ocmulgee Economic
Opportunity Commission,
Inc., has announced that the
agency will again be partici
pating in a massive Summer
Feeding Program for econ
omically disadvantaged
youth in an eight county
area, beginning July 16th.
The Summer Feeding
Program is funded by the
United States Department of
Agriculture, and is sponsored
by Upper Ocmulgee. There is
no cost to the disadvantaged
participants. The program is
designed for disadvantaged
youth whose parents work.
All lunches will meet the U.

in Forest Park. While there
they attended Ash Street
Baptist Church. Later in the

O’Neal.

PUBLIC HEARING
Notice hereby is given there will be a public hearing
held in the Main Courtroom, Butts County Courthouse,
Jackson, Georgia at 7:30 o’clock P. M. on Monday,
July 7, 1975.
A RESOLUTION TO AMEND
THE ZONING RESOLUTION OF BUTTS COUNTY,
GEORGIA ADOPTED FEBRUARY 27, 1973
WHEREAS, the existing remedies available under
the zoning ordinance adopted February 27, 1973 are
somewhat inadequate, and
WHEREAS, the statutory provision as provided for
in Code Section 69-1212 of the Code of Georgia pro
vides for more extensive forms of remedies,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the zoning
resolution of Butts County, Georgia be amended to
strike on Page 65 thereof Paragraph 10-6 which is en
titled “Remedies” and substitute in its place anew para
graph 10-6 which shall also be entitled “Remedies” and
shall read as follows:
“The governing authority of Butts County, Georgia
shall enforce this zoning resolution by meajns of with
holding building permits and occupancy permits from
those persons who are in violation of this resolution. In
addition to this remedy in case any building or structure
is or is proposed to be erected, constructed, re-construc
ted, altered, converted, or maintained on any building,
structure or land is or is proposed to be used in violation
of any part of the zoning resolution of Butts County,
Georgia, the building inspector, county attorney, zoning
administrator, or other appropriate authority of the
county or any adjacent or neighboring property owner
who would be specially damaged by such violation may,
in addition to other remedies, institute injunction,
mandamus, or other appropriate action or proceeding
to prevent such unlawful erection, construction re-con
struction, alteration, conversion, maintenance, or use;
or to correct or abate such violation, or to prevent the
occupancy of said building, structure, or land. Each
and every day such unlawful erection, construction, re
construction, alteration, conversion, maintenace or its
use continues shall be deemed a separate offense.”
Also, be it resolved, that on page 25 of the zoning
ordinance adopted February 27, 1973, that page 25 be
amended to add the letters “SE” in the appropriate
blank that corresponds with FOOD STORES and A-R.
And further amended so that the symbol “SE” be re
moved from the blank corresponding FOOD STORES
and CC and replaced with an X.
Also to adopt the 1975 National Electrical Code,
with certain exceptions.
The public is invited to the Public Hearing herin
above announced.

Walker also indicated that
he is very pleased to have
Arthur Lawson, a veteran
youth worker, as his director
for the Summer Feeding
Program.
The program has a two
month duration, and it is
estimated that approxi
mately 180,000 youths will
have been fed in the following
EOC Counties: Butts, Henry,
Mrs. A. G. Cowan, Mrs. J.
Bailey Jones, and Mrs. Ralph
Coker spent Wednesday,
June 11th, with Mrs. Parks
Moseley in Henry County.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy
Woodard of Aiken, S. C. were
the guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Herman H. Harris last week.

According to Mr. Lawson,
the feeding site locations in
