SINGLEY REUNION
HELD SUNDAY AT
INDIAN SPRINGS
The Singley family reunion
was held at Indian Springs
State Park on Sunday, July
20th, with 179 in attendance.
Avery enjoyable and
festive time was had by all,
renewing old memories,
meeting relatives they had
not seen for many years and
meeting relatives they had
never met before, thus
making the family ties more
binding. A prayer was said
for all the kin that have
departed this life since the
last reunion and for the sick
who were unable to attend.
The only regret noted was
the conspicuous absence of
many of the descendants of
John Lewis Singley and
Emily Coles who reside in
Jackson and Butts County,
who did not attend.
The reunion has been held
for the last 14 years and is
held on the third Sunday of
July each year.

Fruit cobbler is one of the
easiest desserts to make and
it certainly is an excellent
way to use those abundant
summer fruits. This blue
berry cobbler recipe calls for
honey, brown sugar and
whole wheat flour and it is
delicious. Of course you can
always use bleached flour
and granulated sugar.
Peaches, pears, and black
berries would substitute
nicely in this recipe also.
BLUEBERRY COBBLER
2 cups blueberries
One-third cup brown sugar
Two-thirds cup brown
sugar
Va cup butter or margarine
1 tsp. baking powder
I tsp. salt
1 egg
One-third cup honey
Va tsp. powdered cinnamon
1 cup plain whole wheat
flour
‘/2 cup milk
