mond’s daughter, Mrs. Fred
die White, of Pakistan. Mrs.
White and two children,
Kevin and Erik, and Ramzi
Ali of Saudi Arabia, arrived
July Ist and will be here until
August llth.
Friends of Mr. James C.
Shaw regret to learn of the
death of his first cousin,
Vernon Ayers, in Rome over
the weekend. Mr. Shaw
attended funeral services in
Rome Saturday afternoon at
three o’clock.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Riner and
children, Ken and Phil, from
Houston, Texas are visiting
Mr. and Mrs Charlie Moore.
Miss Nell Fisher of
McDonough was the spend
the-day guest of Mr. and Mrs.
M. L. Powell last
Wednesday.
Friends and relatives of
Lamar James will be
interested to learn he is
expected to arrive home
from Craig Rehabilitation
Hospital in Englewood, Col
orado on Friday, July 25th.
Mr. James received serious
injuries in a hold-up in early
March at Fresh Air Barbe
cue.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard W.
Watkins, Jr. and Miss
Virginia Watkins spent Sun
day in Jefferson where they
were guests of Mrs. Watkins’
mother, Mrs. A. O. Hood, and
family.
Byran O’Neal, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh O’Neal, of
Decatur and grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. Asa O’Neal of
Jackson, underwent surgery
Friday at Georgia Baptist
Hospital. He is reported as
recuperating nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin B.
Garland entertained a group
of relatives at dinner at the
Elder Hotel on Sunday, July
20th. Among those enjoying
this delightful occasion were
Mr. and Mrs. Ben M.
Garland and Ben Jr. of
Macon, Mr. and Mrs. Byrd

and Mrs. Richmond Garland
