the Jackson Theatre Guild
Tuesday night, Dr. Jo Ann
Manley announced commit
tees for Donizetti’s opera,
“Elixir of Love,” which will
be presented by the Augusta
Opera Association on Satur
day, February 28th, at 8
o’clock in the Jackson School
Auditorium. Scott Coleman,
widely known Jackson artist,
and Dr. Manley, president of
the Jackson Theatre Guild,
will be honorary co-chair

house. These are needed by
farmers in preparing their
1975 tax return.

It looks like Georgia will
a new record corn
crop this year. The Crop
Reporting Service is fore
casting production at 112.1
million bushels—6 per cent
above last year. The state
average yield is expected to
be 59 bushels, well above
average and three bushels
more than last year.
Kiwanis Club
To Celebrate
Founder’s Day
The Kiwanis Club of
Jackson is pleased to
announce they will celebrate
their Founder’s Day on
January 20th. At this time the
club will be celebrating their
54th Anniversary.
At this celebration sche
duled to be held in the
Fellowship Hall at First
Baptist Church of Jackson,
they will combine the anni
versary celebration and at
that time will name the
recipient of the coveted Man
of the Year Award.
This award is given each
year by the Kiwanis Club to a
citizen who has given freely
of his time and effort in order
to better our community. In
addition to the Kiwanis Club
members and their wives,
representatives from other
civic clubs in Jackson will
attend.
