Friday, we were honored to
welcome the Phi Delta Theta
Fraternity from Georgia
Southern on their charity
walk for the state mental
hospitals. The Indian Springs
Baptist Church was host with
Louis Taylor, Supt. of Indian
Springs State Park, in charge
of lodging. The Church would
like to thank the following

few days last week with her
aunt, Mrs. H. G. Wansley of

Bill Holloway on Saturday.
Mrs. Margaret Greer of
Dublin spent the weekend at
her home here and on
Saturday was a guest of Mrs.
Miriam White and Jeannine
of McDonough.
Miss Winnie Taylor was a
visitor in Macon Wednesday.
Brad and Paige Earnhart
spent the weekend with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Asa Maddox.
Mr. Bobby Grier of
Birmingham, Ala. visited
Mr. and Mrs. Danny Hoard
and Barrett, Saturday.
Mr. Bill Holloway
visited Sunday with his
mother, Mrs. R. L. Holloway,
who is a patient at Monroe
County Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy
Cornell spent last weekend
with relatives in Baxley.
Mrs. Lucille Johnson suf
fered a fall at her home last
week and broke her ankle,
and is now a patient at the
Hazlehurst Hospital. We wish
her a speedy recovery.
Miss Blannie Stallworth
entered West Pace’s Ferry
Hospital Tuesday for eye
surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Taylor and Mr. and Mrs.
Randy Stephens returned
home last week from a
week’s vacation in New York
and Canada. While in New
York they were guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Don Harrington and
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parslow of
Piseco, New York.
Weekend guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Randy Stephens were
Mrs. Shelton Rigdon, Mr. and
Mrs. Jimmy Aspinwall and
children and Mr. and Mrs.
Billy Rigdon of Bristol, Ga.
Miss Winnie Taylor and
Mrs. Richard Brown visited
Mr. James Brown at Colum
bus University over the
weekend.
Food Service Meet
Is Held at Jekyll
The 21st annual conference
of Georgia School Food
Service personnel was held
at Jekyll Island on April Ist
through 4th.
Attending from Butts
County Schools were Mrs.
Archie Ross, Mrs. Catherine
Fletcher, Mrs. Annie Lou
Rosser, Mrs. Thelma Stokes
and Mrs. Merlene Thompson.
Secretary of State Ben W.
Fortson, Jr. was featured
speaker at the Friday night
banquet.
One hundred and six food
and equipment companies
had displays of their pro
ducts and workshops were
held to help lunchroom
personnel improve their
method.
