“She’s as sweet as Tupelo
honey”, as the song goes.
Really, that is quite a
compliment. Tupelo honey is
the best-honey, and the only
type you should cook with.
Heating it does not give it
that undersirable after-taste.
When you are buying honey,
look for raw honey, that has
not been heat-processed. The
taste is better, and it is better
for you. Try this cooling fruit
dish:
Honeyed Fruit
3 to 4 ripe peaches
1 dozen ripe pitted cherries
1 tablespoon Tupelo honey
2 dozen white grapes
Cantaloupe balls
Juice from half a lemon
Mix ingredients and chill.
This is a refreshing, non-fat
tening treat with plenty of
nutrient, too. By the way -
all these fruits are fresh.
That’s the special touch.
Honey and lemon juice are
great for freezing peaches,
too. For every quart of
peaches, add 4 tablespoons of
honey, and the juice from two
lemons. Then when you thaw
your peaches, they are ready
for a cobbler, pie or just a
fresh fruit dish.
Speaking of peaches, try

During the past several months of this campaign, I have met
many of you and discussed with you your concerns as they are related to
the duties and responsibilities connected with this representative post. I
am very appreciative for the many courtesies you have extended to me
during this time as well as your openness with your views and concerns
regarding this post.
If I am favored with this election, I will devote untiring efforts
toward making our state governmental agencies as responsive as
possible to the people of our district. I will endeavor to work closely with
local elected officials as well as with individuals in our district to assure
that the needs and concerns of our citizenry are responded to. In
accomplishing this pledge, I will support and work for:
(A) Legislation designed to revamp our existing tax
laws with a view toward making our present
property taxation system more equitable and less
burdensome to property owners.
(B) Legislation to create a stronger and more
effective Criminal Justice System.
(C) Programs which will strengthen the edcuational
systems in our district.
(D) Equitable distribution of State Department of
Transportation paving contracts in our district.
(E) Openness in government with maximum
citizenry input in your state government.
(F) Programs designed to stimulate our local
economies which in turn will provide more jobs
for our citizenry.
(G) Improved health care services for this district.
In enumerating the above, I do not intend for these positions to be
taken as an all inclusive list of programs for which I will support, for this
representative post is a vehicle through which all citizens in our district
might have a voice in their state government.
In short, if elected to this post, I will aggressively represent the
interest of the people of the 78th representative district, and I will
continually be available to render whatever help I might be able to give
in this capacity.
