of speculation which persists (whether with good intent
or otherwise) concerning agreement between my op
ponents and myself about a position as Deputy Sheriff.
I have not approached either of them and neither has
approached me concerning such position. I further state
to you that I know of no condition under which either
of my opponents would ever be asked to serve as a
Deputy during my entire term. Additionally should a
Deputy position be offered to me, I would respectfully
