TO THE VOTERS
OF BUTTS COUNTY
I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK
YOU for your support in the August 10th Primary.
I was truly gratified and overwhelmed by the large
turnout of Voters and their concern for the Tax Commis
sioners office.
Since June 10th I have listened to the voice of the
Voters regarding changes they feel should be made in
this office. These proposed changes became my platform
and will continue to be throughout the runoff and my
term in office.
Without your vote and your continued support, I
will not be able to accomplish the changes I have
pledged to you, the Voters. Therefore, I ask you to please
go to the polls one more time and vote for RICKY
BEAUCHAMP for your Tax Commissioner.
Thank you,
Ricky

LOSS OF TEETH FEARED MORE
BY MEN THAN WOMEN
Expert Reports on New Technique
Eliminating Need for Removable Dentures
A recent survey by the
International College of Oral
Implantology discloses that
women face the prospect
of.dentures with more equa
nimity than men.
Dr. Charles Weiss, Presi
dent of the International
College, explains the differ
ence this way. “It seems to
be the men who, after 40,
have the greatest emotional
problems. Often they are
beginning to lose their hair
and this, along with the loss
of teeth, can be highly de
structive to their morale. Re
movable dentures can seem

especially disastrous to a
man whose livelihood de
pends on selling to others.
The executive who must con
duct meetings will often
cease to smile, talk as little
as possible, and may even
suffer a severe personality
change.”
That is why, according
to Dr. Weiss, the modern
dental implant technique
that eliminates the need for
removable dentures is such
a boon. This modern im
plant, which was developed
five years ago by Dr. Leonard
Linkow and designed by Drs.
Linkow and Weiss, provides
substitute roots so that re
placement teeth are perma
nently fixed, rather than
removable.
Dr. Weiss points out that
while women are better pa
tients and statistically seek
better dental care than men,
nevertheless the prospect of
losing teeth is a traumatic
one. If the patient is young,
she feels she will be unat-
C Q
TO SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY
GETTING APPLIANCES FIXED
When an appliance needs
repair, finding a reputable,
trained service technician is
important not only so that you
get the job done properly at a
fair price, but also because some
warranties are invalidated if
unqualified persons attempt to
fix the appliances.
Always ask if the service
technician has been trained on
the particular brand appliance
needing service. If the appliance
is covered by a warranty, it’s
also important to ask if he is
authorized to do warranty
repair.
One good way to find someone
is to ask your appliance dealer.
Many appliance stores do their
own servicing or are able to
recommend someone.
Ask friends, too. And use the
yellow pages. Service organiza
tions are listed by product.
Listings may be "Dishwashing
Machines—Repair” and "Re

tractive to men. And if she
has a family, with the at
tending pressures she will
sometimes become deeply
depressed with a feeling of
intimidation. She will fre
quently stop eating and, in
some cases, even need psy
chiatric help.
In describing the modern
dental implant process Dr.
Weiss reports that it is a
generally uncomplicated pro
cedure, in most cases per
formed during the patient’s
regular office visits. The mod
ern implant or root attach
ment is a thin metal disc
that is placed in the jawbone,
he explains. One or more
replacement teeth are per
manently fastened to this
disc. Because of the unique
design, as few as four of
these implants are required
for a complete complement
of either upper or lower
teeth. Dr. Weiss points out
also that the modern im
plants are readily accepted
by the body because of the
inert materials developed es
pecially for them.
Oral implantology is not
anew science. Mummies have
been discovered in Egyptian
tombs which revealed, by
x-ray, that the tooth of
another human or of an
animal had been placed in
the cavity where an original
tooth was missing. “So we
know,” says Dr. Weiss, “that
as far back as written history
the loss of teeth has been a
major concern of mankind—
and womankind.”
Dr. Weiss, who has per
formed more than 1,000 of
the new implants in the past
five years, has taught the
modern implantology tech
nique to dentists throughout
Western Europe and Japan
as well as at major dental
colleges throughout the U.S.
The American Academy
of Implantology hasjust pre

tal implants can eliminate
