STARK NEWS 1 By i M ts. B. A. Williamson Mrs. Mae Flournoy of. Monticello spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Max Redman, and Mr. Redman. Mrs. Floy Dell Franklin and sons, Robert and Burton, of Decatur, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Kitchens. Mrs. Jeanette Briscoe visited Mr. and Mrs. Louie Briscoe and baby in Atlanta on Sunday. Mr. Leonard Singley was dismissed from Veterans Hospital Thursday and is convalescing satisfactorily at his home. Mrs. Elsma Smith is the proud grandmother of a brand new baby granddaugh ter born to Mr. and Mrs. Marion Reeves of Jackson on September 20. The little girl has been named Robin Marie. Latest reports on Mike Waites, who is a patient in Griffin Hospital, are that his condition has improved but that he is still unable to return home. A United Methodist Charge Conference was held at the Stark Methodist Church Sunday evening. The district superintendent, Rev. Frank Jenkins, of Griffin, was guest speaker for the meeting and brought an inspirational address. He was accompa nied to the service by his wife. Mr. Fred Wilkerson’s friends are sorry to learn that he is a patient at Coliseum Park Hospital in Macon, having had surgery on Saturday. Mrs. Helen Welch of Union Point spent the weekend with her sisters, Mrs. Judy Lofton and Miss Sue Kersey. On next Sunday night, Oct. 2, “The Voice of Triumph”, a young people’s group from Conley will be singing in the services at Macedonia. Mrs. Nelle Swan and Mrs. Ina Cawthon, of Westbury Home, were spend the day guests Monday of Mr. and Mrs. Jim McMichael. On Sunday evening, Sep tember 25, at Macedonia, Russ Crumbley was ordained as a deacon of the church. Russ is a fine Christian young man and his many friends are glad to know that this honor has been bestowed on one so worthy of the office of a deacon. Russ and his wife Rhonda are outstanding examples of a dedicated young couple and an inspira tion in both the church and community. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson McMichael and Mrs. Fred Wilkerson visited Mr. Wilk erson at Coliseum Park Hospital Sunday afternoon.
