Georgia Farmers’ Alliance will be
held in Macon, August the 20th.
Dick Hawes, whose trial has been
going on in Birmingham, was found
guilty of murder and death was ree
pommended as a penalty.

Dave Perfected Arrangements lor
the Use of Cotton Bagging.
The state alliance committee ap
pointed at the late meeting in At
lanta to arrange for the clothing of
the coming cotton crop in oottou
bagging have prepared the follow
ing report;
The committee appointed to secure
the manufacture of cotton bagging,

the Southern Cotton Manufactures’
association at Augusta, to determine
the best means for obtaining a
Huifinent amount of cotton bagging
to meet the necessities pleasure to of the coniine
u is our *ay to the
farmers of the state that the Mann
faettirers’ association extend to us
every possible courtesy and a full
expression of sympathy in our effects
to carry out the rcoent notion of the
state alliance in adopting cotton as
the covering for cotton.
Vjrp have arranged with manufac
tures to supply the farmers Jof this
state with cotton bagging to be
guarranted not lees than thirtyseven
inches wide, and tq average twelve
ounces to the vard. f. a. b. at the
mills. The members of the m aim
facturers’association agree to take
cotton so covered at ten cents addi
tional per one hundred pounds to
cover loss of weight in light cover
ing.
To meet the conditions necessary
to begin the manufacture, we have
contracted with the mills for two
million yards of cotton bagging,
This contract wjll not be com
pleted until it is ratified by orders
from the alliances of the state, cov
cring the amout for which wc have
contracted.
All orders will be promptly
filled by the mills when accompanied

accepted by the mills. M anufactuors
will not fuppish bagging unloss
f bey are fully satisfied as to the rc
sponsibility of the parties ordering.
This may be established by giving
negotiable notes, suitable bank re
ierence, or Joulering through some

satisfactory commercial standing.
