There is a new mail regulation which is now strictly enforced. Many mer chants have expressed disatisfaefiou at the conduct of route agents when they were really only doing their plain duty, it is tnnv a law that no package of third class matter can be mailed on a postal car, but must pass through the local office whence it mines. Under no cir¬ cumstances is a mail route agent allowed to receive, packages of merchandise, samples of goods or any ai tlclw of this kind.
