Sharon Institute continues to flourish
with unabated, if not with increased
interest. Its numbers are still increas¬
ing, and the scholars are improving
surprisingly. The teachers, with Labor

They are apt and attentive to their
studies. This is a flue location for a
school and we trust our citizens will

At last it has happened’, and we have
a new store in town. Mr. L. Richards,
late of Augusta, has opened a new and
beautiful stock of dry goods, at the stand
formerly occupied by Mr. John Akins.

Dastardly Act.
On last Sunday a most dastardly at¬
tempt twas made to throw the 12:20
o’clock down passenger train from tlie
track in the cut and cur?a j-ust above
town. Coming around tlie curve, thetrain
was too near on tlie obstructions to be
stopped before it struck, but fortunately
they Were thrown from the track with¬
out serious damage. The obstructions
consisted of a large rock Rnd old cros*
ties and old rails placed on the track.
This is the second time within two or
three tniee months months .that that obstructions obstructions have have
been put upon tlie track near the same
place, and it is time steps bo taken to
discoverand punish the perpetrator of
so murderous an act.
