and his accomplished lady expect to
give the public one of those delightful
entertainments for which they are so
famous.

—Mr. Tobias Holland, whom we re
ported in our issue a few weeks since as
very ill died Thursday May 12th, at his
residence in this county. He was buiied
at the old Parker graveyard, after relig¬
ious services by Rev. J. II. Kilpatrick.

.county from the time of its organization,
While a man of marked individuality,
he was held in high esteem by ail who

death of Hon. Chas. S. DuB'ise which
occurred at his home in Warrenton on
Sunday evening last, after a lingering
illness and great suffering from consume
tion. lie had not reached tho meridian
• of life at the time of his tteath, yet he
had established a reputation of which
old age might be proud, and had taken
a stand among the great and good of
; rejuvenated and
country. We had known hint for sever¬
al years and had found in him all those
, qualities which always characterize
a true Christian. Though young, he had
i a!ready bcrn * civic houors; having first
represented his own county in the leg¬
islature. and afterward our district in

has lost a valuable member, and the
