SHARON, GEORGIA, FRIDAY, JULY 21 , 1 SS 2 .
TO TALIAFERRO PEOPLE.
As above can be seen we have placed
the head of Thb Sharon Democrat
over this page. The reason that led to
this can Ve briefly told. Sharon is «
growing town, full of vim and energy
and the people are liberal supporters
of The Democrat. At the earnest
solicitation of the merchants we have
set aside a portion of The Democrat
to be devoted to that section of Talia
ferro county. In this depavt
ment will be given the improvements
aronnd Sharon and Raytown ; no effort
will be spared by us to build up the
town and aid iu every way a newspa¬
per can aid, to improve that portion of
the county, Now, having taken this
step we shall expect every person near
Shaion and Raytown to take a person¬
al interest in the paper, only asking
of them that they use every effort to
extend the circulation of the paper, and
give us a broader field in which to
work
This much we shall expect, and our
warrant is that we will leave nothing
* ur part undone which will tend to
hM.efir timi sect Min mid all sect ions of
Taliaferro county.
Now we do not wish it to be under¬
stood that The Sharon Democrat
and TheOrawfordville Democrat
are to be different: it is the old paper
with a portion of the premises let. It
will have the same aim, be published
by tlie same publishers, and but an rd
junet of thi (Jrawfordville office.
We shall look for at least three hun¬
dred new subscribers to The Demo
crat in a few weeks from that section
of Taliaferro county iu order that the
honor of The Sharon Democrat may
be sustained.
Mr. James A. Kendrick, one of the
livest merchants of that section, will
nave control of that department, will
rtceive "nbscriptions and advertise
m ent» and conduct the news columns,
__ The editors, will, however, assist f.l .
Kendrick in this matter.
The publishers and editors o' Tiif.
Democrat in nowise sanction any po
litical opinion which may be written
by the correspondent there or at Ray¬
town and which are opposed to tin
views of the paper. Whatever may be
w tten in the campaign .will in nowise
express the views of The Crawford
ville Democrat, or its editors, but
is to be taken as the opinions merely of
correspondents nor does The Demo¬
crat pledge itself to support any man
supported by the correspondents. It
intends, through this medium, to give
an*opportunity for ail si les to be heard
and fairly ii aid.
With this brief statement of what
The Sharon Democrat is to be, and
trusting that we will receive the libe¬
ral support of the entire county in
which our interests are centred,we are,
very truly, the people’s obedient ser
rants. Edward Young&Cc.
