Among Georgia enterprises we are proud to id ace before you in this paper one of the grandest that lias been plac¬ ed on Georgia soil. One which is man¬ aged by gentlemen who are thoroughly abreast with all tlie experiences, back¬ ed bv all necessary means, to make such u huge establishment a success. We here n fer to the Georgia Chemi¬ cal W orks of Augusta, an attractive advertisement of which will be found on our second page to day. In the winter of 1S7G, tlie first ton of fertilizers made by this factory was turned nut, and from that time until tlie present tlie goods have been in cr«*g*l ill quantity, quality and use¬ fulness. Last year, it will be seen, there were 40,000 tons guano made by the Georgia Chemical Works. Col. J. Rice Smith, of these works, and whose word is not questioned in the least, assures us that the question of “trust" in guanos is a mistake. He says tlie material actually cost about 64 or 65 more per ton this season than last. Any one doubling this he would like to have them visit his of¬ fice and be explained to fully why the goods will cost more. The Georgia Chemical Works make ’no shoddy goods, and they will not put a sorry article upon the market, let tlie prices be what they may. It is al ways best ti^liuy the best goods when you go to buy. Mr. W. O. Holden, our oITecient depot agent, is agent here for the goods made by the Georgia Chemical Works, and all who wish good goods in tins line will please read tlie adver¬ tisement in this paper and call on Mr. Holden for particulars.
