plane on Sunday and boarded ship

Overseas". Mrs. I. J. Crews is the
chairman of the circle. The devo
tional was led by Mrs. Lula Brown.

Mr., and Mrs. Huland Herrin and
daughter, Faye and Kaye, were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Rhoden
on Sunday.
Mrs. E. J. Dixon has returned
from Alexandria, Virginia, where
she spent several days with her
daughter, Mrs. Thomas D. Bell.
The WSCS of the Nahunta Metho
dist Church will meet on Monday
night, April 27, at the church. Mrs.
Glynn Conditt will have chaTgc of
the program.
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Robinson and
daughters, Delora and Anna Jo, of
Charleston, S. C., visited relatives in
Nahunta during the weekend. Mrs.
Robinson was called to Blackshear
because of the illness of her father,
Miles Murray. Mrs. W. M. Robinson,
who spent several weeks with them
accompanied them home.
Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas of
Wellsboro, Pa., spent Tuesday night
with Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lewis.
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Barnes re
turned to Nahunta on Friday of
last week after being called to Mar
shallville, Ga., because of the death
of J. C. Turrentine, an uncle of
Mrs. Barnes. «
Omer Higginbotham, student at
University of Georgia at Athens,
spent the weekend at home with his
mother, Mrs. E. T. Higginbotham.
Spencer L. Parrish, seaman, USN,
is serving aboard the destroyer USS
Maddo^ in the Far East it is an
nounced by the' Fleet Hdme Town
News Center in Great Lakes, 111.
His home is in Hoboken, Ga., and
before he enlisted in the Navy in
June, 1951, he attended Hoboken
High School.

an average of 96.89 percent. After
graduating from Swainsboro High
School he attended the University
of Georgia, earning his B. S. in
Pharmacy in 1952. Then he worked
in the University Hospital in Augus
ta Georgia until he was called up
by the reserves in July, 1952.. He is
being transferred now to the Naval
Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida.

leen, formerly of Nahunta are now
residing in Nashivlle, Ga.
Clinton C. Powers left Sunday,
April 12, for Detroit, Mich., where
he will spend two weeks on a busi
ness trip.
