Met Monday Night
The W. S. C. S. of the Nahunta
Methodist Church met Monday night
at the Parsonage with Mrs. Robert
Weeks and Mrs. Emory Middleton
as hostesses.
Mrs. Glynn Conditt had charge
Os the program on “The Old, Old
Story”. Taking part on the pro
fram were Mrs. Ozborn Moody,
Mrs. Mary Sarvis, Mrs. F. R. New
ton, Mrs. G. L. Dowling and Mrs.
J., B. Lewis. Others at the meeting

Mrs. Charlie Smith has a cluster
of three gladiolas on a tall five
foot stalk in her yard at her Na
hunta home. Recent comment on a
radio program about gladiolas thyee
feet tall shows that Mrs. Smith’s
flowers are really exceptional.

Miss Hilda Smith who is em
ployed at Middletown, Ohio, visited
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie
Smith of Nahunta during the past
weelt.- She returned to Middletown
Saturday.

Mrs. J. J. Herrin and daughter
Clarice of Hickox visited Mrs. Her
rin’s son Homer at the Veterans
Hospital at Augusta, Ga., Saturday
and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
C. Woods and J. C. Herrin of Jack
sonville accompanied them. They
found Homer improving from his
illness.

Owen K. Herrin, Jr., is a fireman
aboard the aircraft carrier USS
Philippine Sea on her third tour
of duty in Korean waters. He is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Owen K. Her
rin of Route 2, Nahunta, and a
graduate of Nahunta High School.
Cpl. James K. Harris, son of Mrs.
Evelyn Harris of Lulaton, has re
turned to Korea after five days
leave in Japan. He has been in
Korea eight months and is looking
forward to rotation backl td the
United States soon.
