Governor Herman Talmadge has accepted an invita
tion to be the main speaker at the dedication of the new
$20,000 swimming pool and clubhouse to be built in Pat
terson. The opening ceremonies are set for Friday, July 3.
Work is now underway on the project, which is being
sponsored by the Patterson Lions Club. Lee W. Popple,
who is handling the construction work, said concrete
would be poured probably next week.

NAHUNTA LIVESTOCK AUCTION
THURSDAY. MAY 7.
I have again leased the livestock market at Na
hunta and will hold auction sales every Thursday,
beginning May 7.
Sales will start each Thursday at 2:30 P. M. The
Fat Calf Show auctions May 7 will start at 2:00 P. M.
We expect to have about 18 fine at calves raised
by the FFA and Four-H Clubs of Brantley County for
the Fat Calf Show May 7.
We invite all livestock raiserr ' - ? -ing their cattle
and hogs to this sale and to patronise ur auction mar
ket every Thursday.
We will have a number c c the ’ ading livestock
buyers present and top market prices will be paid.
It is my aim to give the farmers of southeast Geor
gia prompt and courteous service in handling their live
stock at the sales.
Please call on me if I can render you any service
in connection with your livestock program.

other entertainment planned.
Turnips Turn Up
Bigger Than Ever
M. F. Wildes turned up at . the
Enterprise office with a nine .and
a half pound turnip and three other
giant turnips. The four big turaips
weighed a total of 29 pounds *.lO
ounces. *
Nine and a*half pounds is a.lot
of turnip in one vegetable. Mr.
Wildes seems to have the turnip
championship of " Brantley County
thus far. But if you produce a big
ger turnip, the Enterprise ’'will
“write it up for the paper.’’
