The opening ceremonies are set for Friday, July 3. Work is now underway on the project, which is being sponsored by the Patterson Lions Club. Lee W. Several thousand persons are ex pected to attend. A general “holiday” will bp declared in Patterson July 37'4 and 5, with fireworks on. .the night of the 3rd and 4th, and other entertainment planned. Turnips Turn Up Bigger Than Ever M. F. Wildes turned up at . the Enterprise office with a nine .and a half pound turnip and three other giant turnips. The four big turaips weighed a total of 29 pounds *.lO ounces. * Nine and a*half pounds is a.lot of turnip in one vegetable. Mr. Wildes seems to have the turnip championship of " Brantley County thus far. But if you produce a big ger turnip, the Enterprise ’'will “write it up for the paper.’’
