Funeral Service
Funeral services for Allen Jack
son Highsmith of Lulaton, who died
Sunday were held Monday after
noon at two o’clock at Smyrna
Church near Lulaton, with Elder
Elton Dowling officiating.
Burial was in the church ceme
tery.
Pallbearers were A. J. Wainright,
Mack Strickland, Newborn Rober
son, Victor Ham, Dan Wainright and
Harvey Khox.
Survivors include five sons, Sea
born Highsmith, Stencie Highsmith,
and Elroy Highsmith, all of Na
hunta, Conway Highsmith and Cor
bitt Highsmith, both of Jacksonville
and two daughters, Mrs. Effie Ben
nett, Callahan, Fla., and Mrs. Thel
ma Dowling of Nahunta.
Minty Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

Mack Crews Died
Thursday, April 30
Funeral services for Mack Crews
were held Sunday morning at 11
o’clock at the graveside in High
Bluff cemetery.
Pallbearers were D. L. Tatum,
Carl E. Barker, James Guy, Glenn
Prescott, Owen Prescott and Albert
Thomas.
Mr. Crews, who died Thursday,
April 3(V in a Waycross hospital, is
survived by three sisters, Mrs. Em
mie Tatum, Waycross, Mrs. Annie
Dixon and Mrs. Mary Griffin, both
of Hoboken.
Mincy Funeral Heme was in
charge of arrangements.

Georgia’s Governor Herman Talmadge, left, beams acceptance as
Charles L. Davidson, Sr., Stonemo executive, cheerfully extends
the prominent farmer-rancher an official invitation to participate
in activities of the first annual POULTRY -FESTIVAL. To be held
in Gainesville May 16, the one-day event—speeches, parade,
coronation, dinner and folk dancing—will spotlight formation,
growth and progress of an industry which contributes much to the
state’s farm wealth. As chairman of the invitation committee,
Mr. Davidson predicts “several thousand visitors will gather is
Gainesville for the initial observance, with guests coming frora
