The Sue Wood Circle of the Ho
boken Baptist WMU held the Jan
uary meeting in the home of Mrs
Ira Thapas on Monday, Jan. 11.
The first session of the study on
“In Evangelist Country” was taught
by Mrs. Nolan Davis Sr. The at
tendance was almost one hundred
percent.
Mrs. Thomas was assisted by
Mrs. Banner Thomas and Mrs. Rus
sell Thomas in serving apple pie
and cheese topped with whipped
cream.

By the Commissioners of Roj^ds
and Revenues of Brantley County,
Georgia, in session assembled, Jan.
5, 1954, for county purposes. Motion
made, seconded, passed.
That the Commissioners of Roads
and Revenues of Brantley County,
Georgia, for and in behalf of
Brantley County, Georgia, lease to
the Mayor and Aidermen of the
City of Nahunta, and their succes
sors in office, the following de
scribed tract of land:
All that tract or parcel of land
in the City of Nahunta and in block
“C” according to plat in Plat Book
1, at page 37, in the office of the
Clerk of the Superior Court of
Brantley County, Georgia, bounded
as follows: On the South, by lands
of Alvin Drury; on the Northwest,
by Florida Street, also known as
U. S. Highway 301, and on the
East, by Courson Street.
Said lease to begin January 5,
1954 and end July 1, 1973, with
lessees to have option to renew for
additional term of 20 years under
same terms. Rentals shall be SIO.OO
per year, beginning January 5,
1954, payable in advance on Jan.
5 of each year. Said lands may be
used for any lawful municipal pur
pose.
This sth day of January, 1954.

are convinced that Brantley Coun
ty, Georgia, is in need of additional
equipment for maintenance and
construction of existing roads and
new roads for Brantley County,
Georgia.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
that we, the said Board of Com
missioners of Roads and Revenues
of Brantley County, Georgia, pur
chase said equipment for use by
Brantley County, Georgia, said pur
chase and terms being as follows:
One retained title on No. 12 Cat.
Serial No. 8T13194 for $13,000.00
due December 22, 1954, with inter
est from date at six (6) per cent
per annum.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
FURTHER that we, the said Board
of Commissioners of Roads and
Revenues, Brantley County, Geor
gia, by unanimous vote, enter into
the contract specified above and
we hereby appoint and designate
R. B. Brooker, chairman of the
Boaid of Commissioners of Roads
and Revenues, Brantley County,
Georgia, to enter into the contract,
to execute the note and contract or
issue Warrant, for and on behalf of
Brantley County, Georgia, and his
execution of said contract and note
or warrant shall be binding on
Brantley County, Georgia, as had
all .members, of the Board of Com
missioners signed individually.
This the sth day of Jan., 1954.

hereby certify that the above and
foregoing is true and correct copy
of minutes of meeting held by the
