LEVY FOR YEAR 1955.
Resolution and order of the
Board of Commissioners of Roads
and Revenues of Brantley Coun
ty, Georgia, levying taxes for
said County of Brantley for the
year 1955.
It is hereby ordered and re
solved by the Board of Commis
sioners of Roads and Revenues
of Brantley County, Georgia, sit
ting for County purposes in this
the sth day of July 1955, upon
all the taxable property of said
County of Brantley, State of
Georgia, subject to taxation, same
to provide the necessary revenue
for the requirements of said
county, the following taxes for
the following purposes, to-wit:
1. To pay the expenses of admin-

coroners and for litigation, and

said county, and for the collec
tion and preservation of records
of vital statistics, 2 Mills.

age assistance to aged persons in
need, and for the payment of as
sistance to needy blind, and to
dependent children and other
welfare benefits, provided that
no person shall be entitled to
the assistance herein authorized
who does not qualify for such
assistance in every respect, in ac
cordance with enactments of the
General Assembly which may be
in force and effect prescribing
the qualifications for beneficia
ries hereunder; provided no in
debtedness or liability against the
county shall ever be created for
the purpose herein stated, in ex
cess of the taxes lawfully levied
each fiscal year under acts of the
General Assembly authorized
hereunder for such purposes, 1

of forest lands and for the fur
ther conservation of natural re

Making the aggregate total of
two & 60/100th dollars on the
one hundred dollars of the tax
able property of said County of
Brantley, exclusive of the levy

purposes.
11. To pay charges for education
al purposes to be levied only in
strict compliance of the law, and
under and by virtue of the rec
ommendation of the Board of Ed
ucation of Brantley County,
Georgia, at a meeting held on
the sth day of July, 1955, a cer
tified copy of said resolution be
ing hereto annexed immediately
following this paragraph, and be
ing the page immediately follow
ing this page.
Recommendation of the Board
of Education of Brantley County,
Georgia to the Board of Commis
sioners of Roads and Revenues
of said Brantley County for the
levy of taxes for support and
maintenance of education for the
year, 1955.
At the regular meeting of the
Board of Education of Brantley
County, Georgia, held on the sth
day of July 1955, the following
resolution was presented to said
board, and after motion duly
made, seconded and unanimously
carried, said resolution was reg
ularly adopted.
Resolved that the Board of Ed
ucation of Brantley County,

hereby recommended, to the

and Revenues of Brantley Coun
ty, Georgia that a tax for sup
port and maintenance of educa
tion for the year, 1955, of Fifteen
Mills or Fifteen Dollars on the
One Thousand Dollars be levied
on all taxable property in said
County of Brantley, (save that
exempted by the Constitution and
Laws of the State of Georgia, as
to personalty and homestead ex
emption).

Georgia, that a tax for support
and maintenance of education, for
the year 1955 of 15 Mills or Fif
teen Dollars* on One Thousand
Dollars be levied on all taxable
property in said County of Brant
ley, (save that exempted by the
Constitution and Laws of the
State of Georgia, as to personalty
and homestead exemption.) ‘
It is further ordered and re
solved that all such taxes be col
lected by the Tax Commissioner
of said County of Brantley, as
provided by law.
