Wingate to
Speak Here
On Tuesday
H. L. Wingate, president of the
Georgia Farm Bureau, will be
the speaker at a meeting of the
Brantley County Farm Bureau at
the Nahunta courthouse Tuesday
night, April 30, it is announced
by John I. Lee.
The meeting will be held to
discuss the problems of tobacco
allotments, acreage and poundage.
All the members of the Brantley
County Farm Bureau are urged
to be present and hear Mr. Wing
ate explain some of the problems
now facing tobacco farmers.
The public in general is also
invited to attend the meeting
and hear the noted farm leader
discuss farm problems.
Waynesville
Mrs. O. L. Johnson and little
grandson of Florence, S. C. spent
the weekend here with relatives.
Misses Jeanie, Ann and Sharon
Reynolds of Brunswick visited
friends here for several days
during Easter holidays.
Mrs. Mason Brunson, Jr. of
Miami spent the weekend with
relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Edgy and
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Minchew of
Dock Junction spent Sunday with
relatives.
Mrs. Beadie Thrower of Bruns
wick was here for a short time

Pearson was a former resident of
Waynesville.
Mrs. Alma Omick of St. Marys
spent the week here and near
Atkinson with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Raiford Pierce
and son, Sammy of Brunswick
were visitors here Sunday.

gan and daughters of Jesup spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C. G.
Peeples, Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Little of
St. Marys were visitors here
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Noble Lee and
daughters, Ellen and Wanda of
St. Marys spent the weekend with
Mrs. Lee’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
A. O. Keene.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Driskell have
been staying in Waycross for the
past four weeks. They expect to
move to Waycross soon, where
Mr. Driskell is employed.
Mr. Fred Gibson has returned
from a hospital in Waycross
where he was a patient for sev
eral days.
Hoboken Elementary
School to Hold
Pre-School Clinic
The Hoboken Elementary
School will hold a Pre-School
Child Clinic Wednesday, May 1,
conducted by Dr. Clayton M.
Massey and Mrs. R. W. Griner,
Brantley County Health Nurse.
The Clinic will begin at 9 A.M.
Parents of children entering
the first grade in September are
urged to bring with the child his
birth certificate and Immuniza
tion card for diphtheria, small
pox, and typhoid.
Robert Edward Warren, the son
of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Warren of
Nahunta has enlisted in the Navy
and is now undergoing recruit
training at Great Lakes Naval
Training Center.
Mrs. E. R. Tucker and daugh
ters, Dona Lynn and DeLon, of
Jacksonville spent the weekend
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
W. E. Johns and other relatives
in Nahunta.
