“THERE ARE TWO DAYS ABOUT WHICH NOBODY SHOULD
EVER WORRY, AND THESE ARE YESTERDAY AND
These words by Robert Burdette are a calm admonishment to
dwell lightly on yesterday’s worries because today is another
day. It follows that we shouldn’t worry about tomorrow because
in actuality we may be anticipating problems and hardships
which may never materialize.
We don’t believe that this urges a policy of living for today,
and today alone. Rather, it seeks to dispel the lasting effects
of previous hurts and to encourage a less apprehensive approach
to real or fancied problems which may lie jkhead.
Many of us have discovered that our lives do not necessarily
fall in preconceived patterns of unswerving good and bad,
happy and sad. In fact, our daily lives are often spiced by acts
and events of a totally unexpected nature and from unforeseen
quarters.

Th* future looks brighter for more people because more 4-H Club member*
than ever before are being trained and educated in safety. Participation in
the 1957 netional 4-H safety program enablas them to make their homes,
farms and communities safer places in which to live and work.
Boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 21 throughout the state are
learning safe practices that will pay dividends later in life whether they reside
on the farm or in the city. Conducted by the Cooperative Extension Service,
the 4-H safety program has been supported continuously since 1945 by
General Motors.
Incentive awards offered to 4-H’ers for superior achievement include dis
tinctive medals, coUege scholarships, and aducational trips to the national
4-H Club Congress held annually in Chicago.
