12,000 PERSONS ATE BARBECUE — President Leo J. Allen of The Brantley Company estimated that between
12,000 and 13,000 people were served with barbecue plates on Wednesday, October 16, at The Brantley Com
pany’s big celebration. Serving was from four booths with two serving lines each.

The ruling countermanded al

berry of Pierce County Superior

Held Friday for
Mrs. Locklear, 41
Funeral services for Mrs.
George W. Locklear, 41, of Black
shear, who died Thursday in a
Waycross hospital, were held
Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the New-
Hope Advent Christian Church
with the Rev. Emory Corbett
and the Rev. Earl Causey offic
iating. Burial was in Oakland
cemetery.
She was a native of Brantley
county aw'd was a resident of
Waycross for many years, but
had recently moved to Black
shear.
Survivors include her husband;
a sister, Mrs. James S. Lucas,
Waycross; and two brothers,
William A. Drury, Mattox, and
John W. Drury, Rasepond; and
several nieces and nephews.
