2. The original charter granted
by the Superior Court of Brant
ley County, Georgia, was dated
September 5, 1939 and was for a
period of twenty years, said char
ter expiring September 5, 1959.
3. Petitioner shows that it de
sires to renew its charter for a
period of thirty-live years as
provided under the Acts of Geor
gia, 1957, page 604 (Georgia An
notated Code Title 34a-118) and
as otherwise provided generally
respecting the renewal of char
ters of electric membership cor
porations under the acts of Geor
gia of 1937 as hereinbefore re
ferred to and to have all powers,
rights and obligations as set forth
in the original charter and as
given by Georgia law.
4. Petitioners shows that it
serves electricity to rural users
as provided by law in the coun
ties of Brantley, Charlton, Cam
den, Glynn, Ware and Wayne,
Georgia, and Baker, Duval and
Nassau, Florida, and petitioner
has .an office and manager in
the City of Nahunta, Georgia,
upon whom process or notice
may be served.
5. In accord with the by-laws
of the Okefenoke Rural Electric
Membership Corporation the an
nual meeting of the members was
held at Nahunta, Georgia, Sep
tember 14, 1957, notice of this
meeting being given to the entire
membership and said meeting be
ing otherwise legally convened
and held. At said meeting of
members aforesaid a resolution
was unanimously adopted author
izing the renewal of the charter
of Okefenoke Rural Electric
Membership Corporation, as
shown by certified copy attached
hereto and made a part hereof
and marked exhibit “B”.
WHEREFORE, petitioner prays
that its charter be renewed for
a period of thirty-five years from
the date of expiration of its orig
inal charter as shown by the copy
of the original charter which is
hereto attached as exhibit “A”
and that petitioner have full
power and authority to operate
within the counties named above
for a period of thirty five years
and that petitioner have all pow
ers, rights .and obligations as pro
vided by law generally for elec
tric membership corporations.

Motion made, seconded, and
carried that the Charter of “The
Okefenokee Rural Electric Mem
bership Corporation”, granted by
order of the Superior Court of
Brantley County, Georgia, in 19-
39, and recorded in Book 1, page
21 of the Corporate Records of
the Clerk of the Superior Court
of Brantley County, Georgia, be
renewed in accord with the law
of the State of Georgia.
Motion further made, seconded,
and carried that R. L. Bernard,
President, and J. C. Allen, Secre
tary, be authorized and directed
to take steps to have the Charter
renewed and to sign all papers
and take all other steps necessary
in renewing said Charter.

bership Corporation, do certify
that the above and foregoing is
a true and correct copy of a mo
tion duly made, seconded and un
animously carried at the annual
membership meeting of the Oke
fenoke Rural Electric Member
ship Corporation which was held
September 14, 1957, as said min
utes appear on the Minute Book
of said corporation.
I further certify that the notice
of said meetings was given to all
members according to the by
laws of said corporation and that
a quorum was present and that
said meeting w.as otherwise le
gally called and held.
At Nahunta, Georgia, this 14
day of June, 1958.

ation being read, and it .appear
ing that said petition is an ap
plication to renew the charter
of the Okefenokee Rural Elec
tric Membership Corporation of
Nahunta, Georgia, and that said
petition is in order and that the
relief prayed for should be gran
ted.
It is ordered, considered and
adjudged that the charter of
Okefenoke Rural Electric Mem
bership Corporation is hereby re
newed for a period of thirty-five
years from the date granting the
original charter, to-wit: Septem
ber 5, 1939. Petitioners shall have
all powers, rights and obligations
hertofore enjoyed in the original
charter and any amendments
therto and all powers, rights and
obligations as allowed electric
membership corporations by law
and as set forth in Georgia Laws
of 1937 page 644 and all amend
ments thereto to which laws re
ference is hereby .made for the
purpose of incorporation.
It is ordered that this petition
and order be filed in the office
of the Clerk of the Superior
Court, Brantley County, Georgia,
and that certified copies be filed
with the Secretary of State in
Atlanta, Georgia, as required by
law and tha| the application and
order, but not the exhibits at
tached, be published in the
Brantley Enterprise once a w^k
for four weeks said publication
to begin within thirty days from
the date of this order.
