$2,800,000 ACP
Funds Available
To State Farmers
The State ASC Committee has
made available $2,800,000 addit
ional funds for ACP cost-sharing
on approved conservation prac
tices for the remainder of the
year, John F. Bradley, adminis
trative officer of the State Stab
ilization and Conservation Com
mittee announced this week.
This amount is to be used for
approving requests in addition to
those already on file in county
offices, he said, pointing out that
it will depend upon the local
county’s situation. If a large
number of ACP cost-share re
quests are on file, these addition
al funds will be used to fill those
requests. If little or no back log
exists, then all new requests can
be considered for approval.
This was .made possible by au
thorizing county committees to
over obligate their 1958 alloca
tions by 20 percent and to use
an equal amount of 1959 funds.
These ACP funds are to be used
in approving cost-shares for con
servation practices to be carried
out in 1958. The practice specifi
cations and cost - share rates will
be the same as those used this
year even though some of next
year’s money will be used to pay
for them.
