Men who hunt
THESE MEN are electric linemen of a special kind.
They are trouble-shooters.
Their work is often born of the storm —in the
howl of wind, the flash of lightning, the slash of
rain, the numbing grip of hard ice.
It is in such weather that trouble-shooters work
the hardest to keep your electric service flowing
along as usual. -
They know how much you depend on electricity,
at home and at work, every minute of every day
and night. That’s why you’ll find them hunting
trouble when other people are hunting shelter.
These electric linemen are doing more than
“shooting trouble.” They are preserving a tradi
tion of fine electric service.

These two views of new construction on the Tifton Bypass, five miles of four-lane highway
on Interstate Route 75 in Tift County, give an adequate idea of the vast constructiou pro

of 9-inch concrete pavement. Bottom, two dual-drum pavers dump concrete ahead of spreader

FERTILIZING ROW CROPS
When high rates of commercial
fertilizer are used on row crops
the fertilizer should be placed
two inches to one side and two
inches below the seed on most
crops. This method of placement
will prevent fertilizer injury to
the growing plant. This informa
tion is from P. J. Bergeaux, ag
ronomist-fertilizer, Agricultural
Extension Service.
Agronomists at the Agricultu
ral Extension Service point out
soil test results show that 58
percent of Georgia soils are low
in potash and that 50 percent
are low in phosphate.
