WORLD'S LARGEST INFANTRY
TRAINING CENTER
-<o
X
Chattahoochee County is named for a soft red day rock,
located in the Chattahoochee River, from which the Indians
once derived pigments UHE-d in the making of war paint.
Today, Chattahoochee County is the proud home of the
major portion of the world’s largest infantry training center,
Fort Benning. The county seat, Cusseta, today a thriving
community, has been a hub of commerce since the days when
it was an important Indian trading center.
Chattahoochee’s agricultural economy is well-balanced with
crops, forest products, and livestock contributing in about
equal proportions to farm income.
In Chattahoochee County, and throughout Georgia, the
United States Brewers Foundation works constantly to assure
the sale of beer and ale under pleasant, orderly conditions.
Believing that strict law enforcement serves the best interest
of the people of Georgia, the Foundation stresses close cooper
ation with the Armed Forces, law enforcement and governing
officials in its continuing "self-regulation” program.

and after surveying the situation
for several minutes killed it.
The snake, without its head,
measured six feet, eight inches,
and carried twelve rattles and a

Mr. Smith, with the assistance
of Lindsey Thomas, skinned the
snake and tacked his hide to a
piece of plywood where it is now
on display in Smith’s back yard.

Post Office Department to
War on Muck in the Mails
The U. S Post Office Depart
ment has declared war on pur-
veyors of filth in the mails and
is doing all it can to stop the
mailing of porographic matter
through the post offce.
Chief postal inspector David
Stephens recently made the fol
lowing statement on the matter:
•The rapid increase in the sale
:of filth through the mails, and
otherwise, seems to have develop
ed far ahead of general public
awareness of its scope. The volu
me today can be measured in
tons. That juvenile delinquency
stems in large part from the de
molarizing influence of exposure
to obscenity and pornography is
well known to all law enforce
ment groups. Time ofter time in
our investigations of armed rob
bery, extortion, embezzlement,
and forgery, we learn that those
. responsible for such crimes mere
early collectors of obscene pict
ures and films. Also, in the many
vicious murder and sex crimes, it
is often disclosed that criminals
responsible were addicts to por
nographic and sadist material.”
VITAL STATISTICS
To get some idea of the mag
nitude of this beastly business,
these statistics are offered:
Pornography peddlers net an
estimated half-billion dollars a
year.
Simultaneous raids on the New
York headquarters of three deal-.
ers in pornography and obscenity
uncovered 15 TONS of filthy
films, slides, photos.
In Fiscal 1958 Postal Inspectors
investigated 4,000 separate cases,
caused the arrest of 293 persons.;
The highest number of case on
record, this is a 45 per cent in
crease over the year before —
and 1959 is topping 1958.
More than 50,000 alarmed par-1
ents, parent-teacher associations, j
clergymen, school and newspaper |
officials, flood the Department
with their complaints each year. ,
WHY MAIL OBSCENITY?
Since World War II commer
cialized pornography has reached
alarming proportions in certain
areas of the country. Why? Be
cause . . .
1. Purveyors of pornography
reap huge profits.
2. In some cities courts inter
pret obscenity so liberally that
getting indictments is very diffi
cult; punishment of those con
victed consists of only small fines
or light prison sentences — and
they continue to operate while in
jail through other people.
3. Muck merchants have plenty
of money to hire high-priced, un
scrupulous but clever legal talent,
successfully defeated
lamest dealers in
which ha
;ome of the
dirt time after time in certain
cities.
4. Court decisions which favor
ed them in earlier investigations
are cited as precedent by those
brought to trial
5. Frequently they can attack
and ridicule the Postal Service,
with the help of others who, con
fusing liberty with license, un
wittinly assist them.
6. Well aware of the sanctity
of sealed mail, they know they
can rely on this security intended
for lawful mailings.
7. They know they are safe un
less the receiver of their mailings
complains; and they know, too,
that a percentage of addresses
will accept it, while others will
refrain from complaining because
that would embarrass them.
8. In the particular cities which
spawn pornography and where its
interpretation is most liberal, very
few public complaints are made
even though raids prove that such
wholesale mailings were deliver-
ed in these areas.
9. Their continued success and
huge profits have served to build
an increasing smugness and de
fiance on the part of obscenity
dealers, who are quick to demand
privileges and to scream ‘cen
sorship" when the Post Office
tries to stop their filth

Chiropractic has been rewarded with a greater and more rapid
growth than any healing science in previous history. Its success has
been built on the following basic principals:
1. That the cause of disease is within the body.
2. That disease, susceptibility, weakness or non-resistance has its
basis in derangement of the nerve system.
3. That derangement of the nerve system is due to sublexated
(misaligned) vertebra pressing on spinel nerves.
4. That these misalignments can usually be corrected by properly
directed forces.
5. That Nature Cures.
These principles are in harmony with Natural Laws and should be
carefully studied by every person seeking health.

BACKACHE
A man came in to Dr. Tuten complaining of
a severe pain in the lower back which had
been bothering him at times for 3 years.
A thorough examination was made and re
vealed that a misaligned vertebra was interfer
ing with the function of the nerves.
Chiropractic corrective adjustments were
given to realign the spine.
The man now states that he does not have
any pain in his back. He is doing his work
on a farm daily, without a backache.
