Raybon Advent
Church Starts
Revival Monday
The Raybon Advent Christian
Church will begin a series of
revival meetings Monday night,
Oct. 12, with the Rev. H. E. Ald
ridge as the evangelist, it is
announced by Albert Purdom.
The meeting will continue
through Sunday night, Oct. 18.
Homecoming Day will be observ
ed on the last day of the revival,
Sunday Oct. 18.
Services will begin each night
at 7:00 o’clock. Everyone is cor
dially invited to attend all the
services.

Talmadge Will Speak at
Annual Chamber Banquet
Senator Herman Talmadge will
be the principal speaker at the
Blackshear-Pierce County Cham
ber of Commerce annual banquet
meeting on Nov. 4.
Georgia’s junior senator noti
fied Chamber President Nevin
Briscoe last week that he was
happy to accept the Chamber’s in
vitation to speak at -the affair.
President Briscoe made the an
nouncement at a supper meeting
of the Chamber Directors last
Thursday night.
The main business at the meet
ing was the election of directors
for the new year, which begins
Jan. Ist.
John B. Ward was named to
succeed Briscoe, R. W. (Bobby)
Highsmith was elected vice-pres
ident, and Troy Sellers -was nam
ed treasurer. Other officers and
committees will be named at a
later meeting.

mounted to $31,066.46 with 915 head
of hogs and 160 head of cattle being
offered.
Feeder pigs brought up to $15.50
and No. 1 hogs sold at $12.85. No. 2’s
were $12.20 and ord sows up to sll.-
25. The hog market was 25 to 50 cents
lower over the entire belt.

Prices of calves were up to $27.50,
while steers and heifers were as high
as $25.00; cows up to $19.00; and
bulls up to $20.20. No good cows and
calves were offered in pairs.
