SPACING CORN PLANTS
Spacing of corn plants can be
a limiting factor in production

says Extension Agronomist W. H.

SP<Me TO GEORGIA COUNT IE S
Greene County, formed from 404 square miles of Washington
County lands in 1786, became Georgia's 11th county. It was
named for Revolutionary War General Nathaniel Greene.
Until 1802, Greene County served as a buffer between the
settled East and the Western frontier. Greensboro, the county
seat, marks the site of the first in a chain of forts built for pro
tecting settlers from Creek Indian invasions. The University
of Georgia was planned as a Greensboro institution, but was
finally established at Athens in 1832. Other Greene County
towns include Union Point, Thurston, Siloam, White Plains
and Penfield. The predecessor of Mercer University was
founded in Penfield in 1833, where it remained for 38 years
before being moved to Macon. Today, Greene County shares
a large part of northeast central Georgia’s industrial vigor,
with emphasis on diversified textile, forest product, and mill
ing industries.
In Georgia counties where the sale of beer and ale is legal,
the United States Brewers Association works constantly to
assure their sale under pleasant, orderly conditions. Believing
that strict law enforcement serves the best interest of the
people of Georgia, the Association stresses close cooperation
with the Armed Forces, law enforcement and governing officials.

When one car’outsellsaTT the rest the way

to be a reason. And we can think of some
pretty good ones. The clean-etched looks

The eager brand of "git” that's under the

added advantage of extra-cost options like

But to sample all these reasons together,
