To Build A Better
Georgia for Georgians
It is true we need outside capital, but to make Georgia a
more progressive state, we Georgians must invest more of
our own talents, energies and savings in planned programs of
economic and cultural development.
Our natural resources have scarcely been touched. Hundreds
of thousands of idle acres are not producing crops of any
kind — not even timber. Farm credit in Georgia has always
been too tight. We need some kind of state program to work
with our farmers in securing a reasonable credit line over a
long-range period, at reasonable interest rates. We need a
program for children and youth to stimulate and to develop
to the fullest extent, this richest of our resources. Such pro
grams must be launched without increasing your tax burden
and mine. Our tax income grows with our increasing popu
lation and rising economy. The savings of business^minded
state officials will help us achieve the goals necessary for
a greater Georgia. I am seriously contemplating being a
candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia next year.
Please write to me if you agree w'ith any or all of the ideas
expressed herewith.

EGGS RISE IN IMPORTANCE
For the last 10 years Georgia
has led the nation in broiler pro
duction, and recent reports show
the state fast becoming a leader
in egg production. It now ranks
fourth in gross income from this
source. Cash receipts from eggs
totaled over SBS million in 1960,
reports S. J. Brannen, Extension
economist at the University of
Georgia College of Agriculture.

Even more modern
than they look
MORE THAN 2,000 commercial buildings in
Georgia are using electricity to maintain a
preselected climate all year round. Flameless
electric heating-cooling systems provide ideal
temperature control—automatically.
The increasing commercial use of electric
heating-cooling systems proves, beyond
question, their dependability and economy.
Owners and tenants have learned that these
electric systems are wise investments that
will pay off generously through the years
in employe and customer comfort and en
joyment — and in solid value added to the
buildings.
Want to know more about this modern
method of indoor climate control? Just ask
at any Georgia Power Company office.
