Know the joy of total-electric living!
Banish fuel grime when you switch to
flameless electric heat
Only electric house heating is flameless. This
is important. It means no fuel grime to coat
mirrors, walls or draperies. Your home stays
so much cleaner when you heat the modern
electric way.
Electric heat also frees you from the an
noyance of cold drafts and hot blasts.
And never has electric living been so low
in price to our customers! Our total-electric
rate lets you enjoy house heating, water heat
ing and cooking at substantial savings. Call
us; we’ll be glad to give you details!

ABOUT NEMATODES
Cooperative Extension Service
plant pathologist told Georgia to
bacco farmers this week that ne
matodes are costing them $25 to
S4O per acre each year.
Samuel S. Thompson, Jr., of
the University of Georgia said
most farmers use a soil fumigant
in an effort to control the tiny
pests, but added that soil fumiga
tion alone will not do a complete
job.
Nematode control in tobacco,
Mr. Thompson said, should in
clude three practices — soil fumi
gation, crop rotation, and cultural
methods.
The plant pathologist said cul
tural practices is the nematode
control measure which many
farmers are neglecting. “This is
a simple procedure which in
volves getting rid of old tobacco
stalks and roots soon after har
vest," he explained.
All old stalks should be cut
down and the roots plowed up,”
Mr. Thompson continued. “This
should be done with a middle
buster, turning plow, or heavy
bush and bog disc.”
