June Plentiful
June is Dairy Month and
southeastern foodstores will
have plentiful supplies of milk
and other dairy products to
help homemakers join this
year’s 28th annual salute to
the American dairy industry.
The U. S. Department of
Agriculture’s Marketing Ser

dairy products top the foods
that will be in generous supply
in the Southeast and across
the nation during June.
Other June plentifuls, says
the Agricultural Marketing
Service, include beef, early
summer vegetables, and can
ned pink salmon.
USDA reports average daily
milk production in the nation
for the first quarter of 1964
was almost one-half percent
above the corresponding period
of 1963. April milk production
in the United States is esti
mated at 11.3 billion pounds,
an all time record high for
the month and 1 percent above
that of April 1963.
