water heating? l
make mine electric, .
it's flameless!

tops. You can place it anywhere: in a
closet, utility room or in your kitchen.

heater brings you another step nearer the
joy of total-electric living. Install this
efficient appliance now, and let your hot
water problems bubble down the drain.

ROSCOE DEAN
Dean is For
Forestry, Industry,
Watershed Development,
And Sportsmen
State Senatorial Candidate Ros
coe Emory Dean of Jesup said to
day that pulpwood, turpentine
products and lumber industries
form a strong section of the eco
nomic backbone of the Sixth
Senatorial District.
Dean stated that if elected state
senator he would work for in
creasing state services to these
industries in the form of research
to find new uses, new production
methods, more profitable market
ing, and expanded forest fire pro
tection.
These industries expect great
things in research from the pro
jected sl2 million dollar research
center at the University of Geor
gia in Athens. I shall give that
center every assistance and seek
its aid for our District.
We need to increase the end
uses of pine tree products. More
uses are in sight now, thanks to
the research being done at Olus
tee, Florida.
We need to work out cheaper
production methods.
We are seeking a method that
will accomplish the ultimate
goal of going to a tree omy once
a month.
Research is at work on a plas
tic collection cup which should re
duce the amount of stained gum
ind produce more of the pale and
water-w-hite varieties.
We must find ways to combat
under-selling by competing pro
ducts.
We must push the research
“breakthrough” to produce a bet
ter tree.
Watershed projects and develop
ment of our great rivers will
boost the economy of our district.
We must fully develop and utilize
our water resources like the Alta
maha, Ocmulgee, Satilla, Oke
fenokee, Crooked River, St.
Marys River and other water
ways.
Better Wildlife Conservation
and Fair Game Laws will be an
asset to our district and a joy to
our sportsmen. We must maintain
our position as the “Sportsman’s
Paradise of Georgia.”
All of these needs will absorb
my time, energies and interest as
YOUR NEW STATE SENATOR
in the Georgia General Assembly.
I will also fight for lower taxes
and local self-government. I
WILL NOT BE A YES MAN.

PROCESS QUICKLY
One mistake in processing food
for home storage is “putting up”
too much food at one time. Miss
Nelle Thrash, food preservation
■pecia’ist with the Extension Ser
vice, says many products lose
their goodness by staying in the
home too long before they are
vanned or frozen. She suggests
I
arranging the schedule so foods
'an be processed quickly.

To the Voters of the
Sixth Senatorial District:
The State of Georgia faces many serious problems in the next
two years. When the General Assembly convenes next January, the
people of this district need and deserve a qualified, mature and ex
perienced voice in the State Senate.
I believe that the qualifications and experience of the candidates
are the most important questions facing the voters in this race. As
a voter, you are entitled to know the background of the candidates
for this office. You may be assured that I WILL NOT MISREPRE
SENT EITHER MY QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE IN OR
DER TO OBTAIN YOUR VOTE. ANY CANDIDATE WHO DOES
SO IS NOT WORTHY OF YOUR CONSIDERATION.
I am a graduate of the University of Georgia Law School and
for the past fourteen years have practiced law in this section. I am
the father of four children, three of whom are in school. I own my
own home, pay taxes, make my own living and participate in the
activities of my community and church. I am not a professional poli
tician but merely wish to do my part to promote the interest of the
people of this section.
In the days ahead I will present my qualifications, experience and
platform.
I earnestly solicit your vote a:’d support.
