case of the STATE OF GEORGIA
VS. BRANTLEY COUNTY
SCHOOL DISTRICT, Number 21-
54, pending in said Court, the
same being a proceeding to con
firm and validate a bond issue
in the amount of $20(1,000 to be
issued by Brantley County School
District for the purpose of pro
viding funds to pay the cost of
acquiring, constructing and equip
ping school buildings and facili
ties useful in connection there
with, adding to, improving, reno
vating, repairing and equipping
existing educational facilities of
Brantley County School District,
acquiring the necessary property
therefor, both real and personal,
and paying expenses incident to
accomplishing the foregoing, and
any citizen of the State of Geor
gia residing in said County, or
any other person wherever resid
ing, who has a right to object
may intervene and become a par
ty to these proceedings.

Recreational
Needs Planned
County officials, along with
municipal and state officials, will
assemble in Atlanta on Decem
ber 2 to discuss Georgia’s Out
door Recreation Needs and
local governments can secure
Federal matching funds under
new legislation signed into law
by President Johnson.
Sponsored by the Association
County Commissioners of Geor
gia the Conference will be held
in the Henry Grady Hotel be
ginning at 9:30 A. M. The gen
eral public is invited.
Under the new law counties
may receive grants-in-aid for
three purposes:
(1) For preparation of a com
prehensive county-wide Outdoor
Recreation Plan and its main
tenance.
(2) For acquisition of needed
public recreation land and wa
ter areas or interests therein.
(3) For development of public
recreation areas and facilities.
The Act becomes effective
January 1, 1965. In order for
counties and cities to qualify
for Federal monies their local
plans must fit into the state’s
overall Statewide Outdoor Rec
reation Plan.
