GRADE POTATOES
Housewives are advised to
grade those sweet potatoes when
they get them home from the
store. Extension Service home
economists say the small and me
dium sizes are good for baking.
Medium to large sizes are best
for canning or freezing sliced in
syrup. The jumbos are suitable
for making puree or mashed po
tatoes.

FOOD STORAGE
Storing canned foods at a high
temperature breaks down the
cells and causes a soft product,
says Miss Nelle Thrash, Exten
sion home economist — food pre
servation. This tends to impair
the color, flavor, and nutritive
value of die food. Usually a base
ment or cellar is ideal for stor
ing canned foods, Miss Thrash
points out.

his mother-in-law with three more

her on the head. Haugsted also
allegedly shot his 7-year-old
daughter in the head, seriously
wounding her, and inflicted a
superficial gunshot wound on his

A Federal warrant charges him
with unlawful interstate flight to
avoid prosecution for murder.

HOW MANY EGGS?
Two eggs per person daily is
a good guide to follow, according
to Extension home economists -
nutrition, University of Georgia.
They say the eggs may be used
as main dishes, along with other
foods, or as components in cook
ed or baked recipes. Eggs are
also gaining popularity as be
