Suwannee County Agricultural
Coliseum at Live Oak, January
10.

Again this year entries for the
congress are open to the world.
Breeders from the member states
of the Southeastern Duroc Breed
ers’ Association, as well as from
the Middle West and the South
western Congress areas, are
grooming their best fall farrow
ed boars, gilts, barrows, and
bred spring gilts for the Florida
show.
T. J. Haynes, Vice President,
Southeastern Duroc Breeders’
Association, of O’Brien, Crews,
and Kenneth Durrance, Animal
Husbandman, Florida Agricultur
al Extension Service, will han
dle general arrangements for the
congress.
The congress has been stream
lined to a two-day event. Mon
day’s program will include the
barrow show, type conference,
and judging contest in the morn
ing. The important show of July
and August gilts and bred gilts
will be held in the afternoon.
The congress banquet will be
held in the coliseum Monday even
ing. The breakfast and program
for the ladies and the judging of
the July and August boars take
place the second day. Also on
the morning program will be the
announcement of the judging con-

The congress closes with the
sale of bred gilts, open gilts, and
mature boars on Tuesday after
noon.
Some 1,500 breeders and inter
ested producers will attend the
two-day congress.
There have been 25 bred gilts,
75 open gilts, and 50 boars con
signed from 25 states.
