Cellulose for cigarette filters, tire cord, rayon and so
on, has always been produced by a relatively elabo
rate and critical chemical process.
Cellulose for paper products, on the other hand,
used to be made by a somewhat simpler method.
But smart chemists can vastly improve papermak
ing pulps, too.
